Our Teachers

Kevin Windell

Hi - my name is Kevin Windell. I'm from the UK but have been teaching in Greece for over 35 years. In that time, I've taught both general and business English to students at all ages and levels, from beginner to proficient. A large part of my focus has been on preparing students for important language examinations: Cambridge Key, Preliminary, First, Advanced and Proficiency, IELTS, TOEFL, IB, IGCSE and GCE.
In recent years, one of my main focuses has been on helping corporate clients, and I have worked with business people from some of the world's largest companies and corporations to improve their language skills and effectiveness in communication.
I have also produced teaching material for various major publishers, such as Oxford University Press and Addison-Wesley Longman, and have worked in language schools as a Director of Studies and course designer and coordinator.

Aty Pillai

Hello learners! I am a fully qualified UK teacher with a PGCE and QTS since the year 2001 and have been teaching English and Maths from Key Stage One up to GCSE for over twenty years now: as a 1:1 and small group intervention tutor in Primary and Secondary schools. My experience also includes being an A Level Lecturer/Coordinator and a Team Leader at a Sixth Form College, holding the responsibility of designing robust assignments, along with comprehensive resources and thorough assessments to ensure in-depth learning. I am quick to create a rapport with my students and am perceptive of their learning needs and preferences. In addition, I hold a CELTA teaching certificate (2004) which gives me the opportunity to embed EAL strategies into mainstream teaching.

Over the years, I have taught English and Maths at various levels to fulfil the UK National Curriculum specification and requirements of Exam Boards such as AQA, WJEC, Edexcel, OCR... My lessons begin with an introduction of clear learning objectives, a fun starter activity followed by a rich detail of content with relevant examples and comprehensive instructions to escalate learning. I feel equally comfortable delivering lessons to students of different cultures and diverse learning abilities and have taught SEN students as well as the more academically able Grammar School students; I scaffold my learning to meet explicit learning goals and use assessments to inform further instructions. My students find me pleasant, approachable, patient and knowledgeable and therefore they enjoy their learning journey with me.

I am an academic success and this is what I teach my students to achieve.

Rebecca Hayes

My name is Rebecca and I have been teaching English and EAL for 35 years. After graduating from the University of Southampton , I worked in local language schools teaching General English to adults and children . I specialised in all the Cambridge examinations and ran summer schools as Academic Manager.
My expertise lies in General and Academic IELTS for university preparation , immigration purposes and the workplace. I spent 10 years as the senior IELTS teacher on the Business University Foundation course at a local boarding school. During this time I devised my own topic - based syllabus to incorporate not only the writing , reading , listening and speaking skills required but a grammar and academic vocabulary course specifically targeted for IELTS success. This role was combined with responsibility for pastoral care and counselling students. I am passionate about student welfare and removing any barriers to learning.
In 2017 I took up the position of Secondary EAL Coordinator at a British International School in Abu Dhabi working closely with the Inclusion Department. I gained valuable experience of helping SEN pupils , taught IGCSE, set up English support groups and trained mainstream subject teachers in EAL strategies to improve delivery of lessons to non- native speakers. Working across the UAE , I also became familiar with the American Curriculum and taught English SATS for American university entrance as well as EmSAT and BMAT.
I'm currently combining my online work teaching international students all over the world with supply teaching in schools.
I'm looking forward to meeting you and helping you reach your goals in English.
